Marketing Case Blog Follow Up

I just finished my presentation on the controversial "Just Do It" advertisement. The advertisement was centered around Colin Kaepernick, who was one of the most talked about men in the world when he knelled for the National Anthem. This is the link for the video:  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=-hIc_epqfI0 The advertisement included some of the greatest athletes in the world (Lebron James and Serena Williams) and some of the greatest comeback stories (wrestler with only half his body and 1st round NFL draft pic with only one hand). When most people think of Nike commercials they think of intense workout scenes or game on the line type of scenarios. This ad was a refreshing change up that so many people could respect. It sends a good message to all ages and genders. This was a great way to show customers that when you buy Nike apparel, you are connected with some of the greatest athletes in the world. Nike's value proposition is to "just do it, no matter how crazy

Social Listening A Bay

I selected the brand called "A Bay". I was introduced to A Bay this summer during its pre-launch. This device and company is brand new to the world, and hasn't even his stores yet. The initial reactions to the product is that it seems just like a Juul or Suorin. The design of the A Bay isn't as slick as the Juul but it is more compact and easier to keep hidden. The product says it is a more convenient and unique compared to other nicotine smoking devices. First of all the A Bay uses a micro USB chord to charge. This makes it very convenient to charge everywhere you go. With other devices like Juul and Pax you need the specific charger for the device. The A Bay is much more versatile and even charges at a faster rate. Juul has been hands down the leading nicotine smoking device since it launched in 2015. To separate itself from Juul and other mainstream smoking products, A Bay holds twice as much juice per pod and costs exactly the same as Juul. A majority of Juul cu

Marketing in the News

After looking around the web for an article that interested me I stumbled upon a BMJ journal about juuls (https://tobaccocontrol.bmj.com/content/early/2018/05/31/tobaccocontrol-2018-054382). The article about juuls definitely got my attention immediately because people around my age is the main market for juul. Pretty much the article explained the juul is really good at targeting youth and young adults. The slick design and cool flavors are really appealing to the younger generation. When juul first came out publications said the product is the "iPhone of ecigs". Their main advertising also comes from Instagram, twitter, you tube, and other social media. Although juuls are suppose to be for adults that are trying to quit cigarettes, the main market has been for first time users of nicotine products. The juul's value proposition purposes that after using their product you will be less addicted and needy towards nicotine products. The effect of juul actually makes the yo
