Social Listening A Bay

I selected the brand called "A Bay". I was introduced to A Bay this summer during its pre-launch. This device and company is brand new to the world, and hasn't even his stores yet. The initial reactions to the product is that it seems just like a Juul or Suorin. The design of the A Bay isn't as slick as the Juul but it is more compact and easier to keep hidden.

The product says it is a more convenient and unique compared to other nicotine smoking devices. First of all the A Bay uses a micro USB chord to charge. This makes it very convenient to charge everywhere you go. With other devices like Juul and Pax you need the specific charger for the device. The A Bay is much more versatile and even charges at a faster rate. Juul has been hands down the leading nicotine smoking device since it launched in 2015. To separate itself from Juul and other mainstream smoking products, A Bay holds twice as much juice per pod and costs exactly the same as Juul. A majority of Juul customers say they buy a new pack of pods every 1-2 weeks, by switching over to A Bay that saves a lot of money. A Bay also claims that they do not target the underage market like Juul does. They don't use a lot of young people in their advertisements and are pretty subtle when it comes to social media in general. A Bay also guarantees that their product is for people trying to stop smoking devices, and they also warn people on every product pack that their device is addicting and harmful.

Some of the common comments on social media say that A Bay has a great, new charger case that hasn't been seen yet with any other smoking devices. This is a great move by A Bay because every electronic device user always complains about how fast their product dies and how it is such an inconvenience to charge it. A Bay has also teamed up with Engravish who has a contract to engrave A Bays and Juuls. Engravish has been an excellent asset because many people who purchase nicotine devices say their biggest problems is losing their devices and the lack of individuality. It's a win win relationship and with how similar all the devices are it's a great way to put A Bay to the top. Comments on Instagram have also said that it is a lot harder to obtain A Bays compared to Juuls and Sourins. I think that if A Bay's start popping up in stores that can help get the word out and skyrocket their sales.

The biggest speed bumps for A Bay is the lack of social media on twitter and snap chat, and how they haven't tapped into the teenage market like Juul and other nicotine products. If I was the brand manager I would try to contact more stores like plaid pantry, superette, and circle K to see if they would be interested in carrying A Bay. Lastly I would use more social media to offer give away and special deals. I learned that when a new product hits the market that there needs to be big marketing events to jump start and get the product out there.
